I am very pleased to be able to welcome you to my website. The site gives me an exciting opportunity to show the full range of my work. I plan on publishing new paintings through the site, allowing you the first chance to see my new work. From aviation, figurative or landscape paintings, as well as new exclusive giftware.
After leaving art college in the early 1980’s, I have been working as a full time professional artist, mainly in watercolour. My early work was in land and towns scapes and coastal views of East Anglia where I live. In recent years my interests have broadened to include figurative and aviation subjects. All of which I still like to capture with the intricate detail that has always been a feature of my work.
Originally I sold a small range of lithographic prints, however, in the last few years I have self published my work on a Giclee printer. This allows me to get the best reproduction possible, by letting me control all aspects of the print process. I now produce each picture myself in my Norfolk studio, without having to do large print runs, often working on one print at a time. Selecting the best canvas, paper and format that I can find for each print, to accurately reproduce the original painting.
Although mainly a watercolour artist and painting my originals on paper, I have found that using fine art canvas for printing allows the rich depth of colour to be accurately reproduced. All the images featured on this site are taken from my original watercolour paintings.
As previously mentioned I use the giclee print process. This is a relatively new form of printing that offers the highest form of reproduction available to the artist today. Across the industry many artists are turning to giclee printing to publish their work.
It allows me to create individual prints as close to my original watercolour paintings as possible. Using the best available, state of the art high definition scanning and printing equipment, these giclee prints are printed on fine art canvas that really show the depth of colour that the giclee process creates. Using pigment based inks, means that your print will last, (industry sources quote from 25 to 150 years as the norm) depending upon location.
These prints are a mixture of Lithographic and Giclee Prints, ( see individual Prints for details ). They come ready mounted with a single white Acid free Mount, usally 45 to 55 cms wide. The mount size quoted is the external size, so for example a 8 x 10 inch mount would fit in a 8 x 10 inch Frame. The image area refers to the printed area, with my more recent Giclee images there is an clear un-printed area around the image.
This is the top highest quality version of my prints. All items in this range are Giclee Prints done to the very best standard. Some pictures are also available in different sizes. (see individual prints for details) These are printed on canvas and then laminated and stretched on premium stretcher bars. These can be hung as supplied, or in your own frame. See individual prints for details.
