Welcome to my website which gives me an exciting opportunity to show the full range of my work. I plan on publishing new paintings through the site each month. This allows you the first chance to see my new work from aviation, figurative or landscape paintings, as well as new exclusive giftware.
After leaving art college in the early 1980’s, I have been working as a full time professional artist, mainly in watercolour. All the images featured on this site are taken from my watercolour paintings. My early work was in land and towns scapes and coastal views of East Anglia where I live. In recent years my interests have broadened to include figurative and aviation subjects. All of which I still like to capture with the intricate detail that has always been a feature of my work.
Originally I sold a small range of lithographic prints, however, in the last few years I have self published my work on a Giclee printer. This allows me to get the best reproduction possible, by letting me control all aspects of the print process. I now produce each picture myself in my Norfolk studio, without having to do large print runs, often working on one print at a time. Selecting the best canvas, paper and format that I can find for each print, to accurately reproduce the original painting. In the same way I produce the new giftware ranges myself, again allowing me to get the best reproduction and quality possible.
Giclee printing is a new form of printing that offers the highest forms of reproduction available to the artist today. It allows me to create individual prints as close to my original watercolour paintings as possible. These giclee prints are printed on fine art canvas, which I dry mount onto board (this avoids the problem of canvas expanding or contracting with temperature variations.) as well as adding strength to the canvas. The print is then over laminated to protect the surface from environmental and UV damage. Giclee canvas prints are sold framed as above unless mentioned other wise.
